This Is the first sentence under

summer school, which begins Monday,
June 14, and closes Saturday, July

that the college is not so much con

Cleveland Men to Seek Lot Gold.
CLEVELAND, , June 3. Three
Cleveland men were to start today to
find $20 000 in gold supposed to be
at the bottom of Lake Erie. They
have based their hopes on an old
compass carried by a sailor on the
schooner Atlantic when she sunk al
ter a collision, nearly fifty years ago,
carrying with her three boxes and a
steel safe containing the gold.
Harney McGroder, one of the oldest
sailors on the Great Lakes, the own
er of the compass, will head the ex
pedition, to be financed by Captain J.
D. Stanton, head of the South Shore
wrecking company. Stanton, Mc
Groder and Tom Moreau, diver, are
members of the party.
McGroder was -on the Atlantic
when she sunk and carried the com
pass for the first time that night. He
says he can feel the compass treni'
ble every time he thinks of the d!8'
aster.
