attle police department Is making a
vigoroua Investigation Into the move-
menu of a man named J. M. Hen
ricks Sunday morning when 150 tons
of dynamite waa blown up on a acow
anchored In the harbor here. The

Henrlcka waa arrested Monday
night In the Butte saloon. He had
been drinking heavily, and boasted
that It waa he who exploded the dyna
mite. He declared that President Wil
son should be similarly tseated. He
told of buying fuse In Tacoma with
which the explosives were Ignited.
One of the crowd of listeners left the
saloon and returned with a policeman.
The officer took Henrlcka to the sta
tion, where he waa booked on an open
charge. Henrlcka la atlll In jail and
will be held pending a thorough Inves
tigation. The Tacoma authorltiea are looking
for a mysterious couple known as Mr.
and Mrs. Walter Brown, whom thej
believe have some connection with the
explosion. The house at which they
resided has been vacated since Sunday.

and Raymond S. Hixby were made
man and wife, Rev. B. F. Harper of

and Mrs. A. Montague and children
of Arlington. The young couple left
on the evening train via Walla Walla

had been visiting for two weeks. j
A very enjoyable recital was given
by pupils of Mia Burnett and Mis
Whiting of the Malen Burnett achool
of Piano Playing at the Presbyterian
church here Saturday evening. There
were twenty-six number on the pro
gram and all were played with a
smoothness of technique, clear tone
and musical taste quite unusual In
the playing of young students. Most
Impressive waa the original composi
tions written, harmonised and played
by children from eight to fourteen
years old. A prixe waa awarded to
Miss Madeline Burgess for the most
attractive composition.

Fill the cups of a buttered muffin pan
-with pared and sliced apples, sprinkle
with salt sod turn two or three table
poonfuls of water into each cop. Sift
together, three times, theflonr, salt and
baking powder; work in the shortening,
and mir to s soft dough with the milk.
Drop the dough from a spoon with the
spples in the cups, giving it a smooth ex
terior. Let bake about twenty-five min
utes. Invert the pan on a large serving
dish. Put aspoonfulof hard sauce above
the apple in each dumpling and finish
with a grating of nutmeg,
