Anide from the tew head of hosts brought forward in a wajion. total arrivals of livestock :.t North Portland today consisted of three loads of yheep and lambs There was a tale of a few head of extra eeleot ppring lambs at $S T3 this morning but this really did not rep resent the general market, which re mains unchanKcd but steady at 18.50 for average tops. That the market for good mutton and lumbs will remain steady for the Immediate future Is the opinion of leading handlers of supplies at North Portland. The outlook is for Urn ted arrivals of fat stuff here during the next few weeks. In fact real good stuff la expected to be rather scarce all summer. Naturally, even though good ntuff Ib held rather steady In price, off quality offerings will always show shaded figures. NEEDED GRAIN BAGS PURCHASED ( Wednesday's Market.) PORTLAND, Ore. Interest in the grain bag market Is unusually small at this time. It Is stated that the country has already purchased about i't per cent of Its probable require ments for the coming harvest. The bags have been shipped from Calcutta and only the sinking of the.se vessels will force a shortage In the trade here. Oats market Is erratic, showing weakness and steadiness by turns. Holders are seemingly very tired and for that reason occasional sales are reported at lower figures. Barley market continues to show strength for spot both in the Interior snd at tidewater. Wheat trade Is extremely quiet at tidewater but fair market is shown for the limited offerings In the in terior. Aside from the slight shading of quotations by some of the overstocked wholesale grocers, the market price for patent flour is generally maintain ed. Flour Selling price: Patent, 16. While not reflecting the recent strength and advances of the Chicago wheat market, the local trade today was quite eager to follow the bearish ( lead of Chicago. On the Portland j Merchants' Exchange today there! were losses of 2 to 4c in bids for spot wheat, even though the market abroad is generally of very strong character. The only sale was a lot of 6000 bush els June red Russian at $1.18 1-2. Spot oats bids on the exchange were bid down $2 a ton today, but there as no panic among holders to let go. No sales. Spot barley bids were showing a loss of the 25c gained yesterday. N( sales. KVEHY STREET IN PENDLETON. Has Its Share of the Proof That Kid ney Sufferers Sock. Backache? Kidneys weak? Doan's Kidney Pills relieved the pain In my back and trouble with the kidney secretions." Wheat closed lgl l-2c below yesterday: Prices in the pit at the opening of the market today were little from the closing last night. The trade In wheat was very light. A few of the local traders sold, offer ings were readily absorbed by tho commission houses. Reports from Illinois indicated that the crop is doing well, with plenty of moisture. Exports continue large and more than enough to take care of the pri mary receipts. Sentiment Is mixed. The majority of the traders, however, are bearish on the crop outlook at the high pri ces. The bears say that the prices yield read ly to any selling. Corn opened steady, with the vol ume of the trade moderate. There appeared to be some scattered de mand for July, with little pressure. Oats started higher. Provisions were steady. WHEAT. May Open, 162 3-4; high, 162 3-4; low, 161; close, 161B. July Open, 135 7-8; high, 136 3-4; low, 134 1-4; close, 135 3-8B. Sept. Undigested food delayed In the stomach decays or rather ferments the game as food left in the open air, says a noted authority. He also tells us that indigestion Is caused by Hyper-acidity, meaning, there Is an ex ces of hydrochloric acid In the ; stomach which prevents complete dl ' gesllon and starts food fermentation, i Thus everything eaten sours In the stomach much like garbage sours In J a can, forming acrid fluids and gases j which inflate the stomach like a toy i balloon. Then we feel a heavy, I lumpy misery In the chest, we belch up gas, we eructate sour food or have i heartburn, flatulence, water-brash or 1 nausea. He tells us to lay aside all digestive aids and instead, get from any phar macy four ounces of Jad Salts and f lane a tauiraijuoiiiui in a giase ul ' ter before breakfast and drink while , it is effervescing and furthermore, to I continue this for a week. While re ! lief follows the first dose, it Is im I portant to neutralize the acidity, re ' move the gas-making mass start the liver, stimulate the kidneys and thus : promote a free flow of pure digestive Juices.
