and Fred Marshall.
The parent-teachers' association
of the Washington school will meet
tomorrow afternoon at 3 o'clock at
the school building. An Interesting
program will be given and at the bus
iness session officers will be elected.
The Jolly Neighbors met Tuesday
afternoon with Mrs. Charles Greu

work being carried on in Berlin have

The Improvement Include a new
subway involving $17,500,000; harbor
work, 19,250,000; a central market
building, $10,000,000; several bridges
and street widening; an addition to
the city's principal railroad station
and Improvement to one of the
roads; a rapid transit extension and
an "L" connection, as well as one new
Interurban road.
The authorities of Berlin are about
to order work begun on a new market
hall whl'h will be the largest In the
world. The hall will have a total
length of more than three-fifth of a
mile.
Treasure Chest Robbed.
SAN FRANCISCO, April 27. Rob
bery of a chest of silver filigree work
aboard the steamer Vega, a part of
Italy' exhibit at the Panama-Pacific
exposition, was discovered by customs
officials. The value of the lost ar
ticles Is not known.

A new social club was formed last
evening when fourteen young ladles
of the high school met at the home
of Miss Beulah Young and organized,,

of the late Oeorge M. Pullman. Erect

dustrial school. Principal Wade
plan to cooperate with the Pullman

The school will 'be open five and
one half days, 48 weeks In the year,
with a short vacation at the end of
each of the four quarter. The t!m
of the pupils, nho will be in school
eight hour each day, wllyl be divided
between the shops, the laboratories,
the athletic field and the gymnasium.

To Frame Constitution.
ALBANY, N. Y., April 28. The
New York constitutional convention,
which held an Initial organization
session April 6, will reconvene to
night prepared to actively begin work
upon drafting tentative planks of the
new constitution. Former Senator
Root, chairman, la expected to an

night or tomorrow.

France to Alsace-Lorraine was the
subject of debate tonight by Harvard

DALLAS, Tex., April 28. J. Waddy
Tate, fisherman extraordinary, known
a the "Admiral of White Rock," has
started a campaign in behalf of the
downtrodden fisherman. With the ad
vent of a new city administration he
announced that he wa going to do
someth ng to alleviate the lot of the
local Izzak Waltons, Inasmuch as
they have been prohibited from boat
fishing In the city's principal fishing
spots. This administration, ho op
ines, will be the champion of the
oppressed fisherman.
