Arran gements has been made between the British and Dutch governments where by through embargoes or other meas ures, the possibility of supplies reaching Holland by water being trans-shipped to Germany Is elimin ated. Official notice waa given that not only contraband, auch aa food supplies but even goods on the con traband list of the British govern ment may be given safe passage to Holland through the blockade lines. The Ftrltsh Embassy Issued this statement: "1. Shipments of wheat, flour and meal, destined for consumption In Holland should be consigned to The N'ethedlands government, "i. Victor West, an employe on the Van Orsdall ranch, was quite pain fully injured this morning about 10 o'clock when he was thrown from a wagon while the team was running away. As the wagon struck the rail road crossing on Lllleth street he was pitched from the seat. He struck on his face and shoulder and his face on one side was badly -skinned, while his shoulder was badly bruis ed. He was taken to St. Anthony's hospital where an examination show ed that the Injuries are pot serious. However, he will be kept there a few days. Good Roads Men Meeting. This afternoon In the Commercial association, the board of directors of the Umatilla County Good Roads As sociation is holding a meeting to dis cuss the various problems preliminary to placing the bond Issue before the voters. BL The barn on the residence property of Hans Pahl, 909 East Railroad street, this morning caught fire, pre sumably from the electric wires and before the flames were extinguished, damage to the amount of $160 approx imately had been done. The alarm was turned in at 9:30 and, when the firemen arrived at the scene, the en tire roof was In flames. Within 30 minutes the "fire out" signal was rung. Another barn and the Pahl residence were endangered but the flames were under control before they had a chance to spread. There was little hay In the barn and the automobile which was In It when the fire started was quickly removed. School Principals Selected.
