State de partment officials have practically completed ineir investigation of charges by. the German ambassador, Count von Bernustorff, that dumdum bullets were being supplied from the I nlted States to the armies of the al lies. An answer to Count Von Bern Morff will be made within the next few days. The department's Investigators re ported that the samples of dumdum bullets submitted by the German am bassador as having been made In the United States would not fit any rlne being used by the allies. State depart ment officials also have been informed by an American dip lomat Just back from Europe that he found no ground for charges that Belgians have been mutlllated by Gcr man soldiers. OHIO'S CONVICT-MADE BUILDING BEADY TODAY COLUMBUS. O., Jan. 1. The new office building for the state board of administration constructed by prison labor, waa ready for occupancy to day. It Is the first building In Ohio to be built entirely by convicts from the penitentiary. Board of adminis tration memtvers estimated the saving to the state at $18,000. The archl- tect's estimate was J40.000. The board spent only $22,000.
