MANILA, Dee. 2. Eight Filipinos
are under arrest and the arrest of
more is being considered likely in con
nection with what appears to have
been a concerted attempt at a local
native uprising on Thursday.
It was said the army officers were
warned in advance, the number ol
conspirators being placed at 10,000.
The attempt was a complete fiasco,
the native gatherings being quickly
dispersed in various places and today
from all Indications the authorities
hod the situation well In hand.
The plot was attributed to the ac
tivities of Artemio Rlcarte, a Filipino
now In exile In Hong Kong.
