Any berry may be used for this i
dish. Pickover and spread them Ken-'
erously upon the bottom of the bake
dish; cover liberally with sugar. Now
prepare a plain sweet cake batter and
pour over the berries Stand the bake
dish in a pan of water In a hot oven
and bake until the cake Is well puffed
up, dry and nicely browned. Serve
each portion of cake with berries and
juice dipped over it.
Stiffening Curtains.
When doing up curtains at home, if
flour is used Instead of starch, the
Iron will not stick so much, and the
curtains will have more the appear
ance of new ones. One Rood table
spoonful of flour for each curtain is
sufficient. Mix the flour to a thick
paite, with cold water, then put In the
tub and pour on ns much boiling wa
ter ns required for rinsing the curtains.

eggs be gathered at least every day
and twice a day in hot weather. They
must also be stored properly and
shipped promptly. At the time of
packing, the over-sized, undersized,
dirty and cracked eggs should be dis
carded, for other use and only eggs
of reasonably uniform size and qual
ity placed In the packer.

federal council decided today not to
proclaim a moratorium for the pre
sent. The courts were empowered to
deal leniently with debtorB, and the
term for the payment of debts may
