of the fruit or vegetables. Knowing this, we buy only from
factories which can their goods immediately after they are
picked or grown factories which are known to work under
conditions of perfect cleanliness.
You may rely absolutely on our goods.
We keep a large variety rather than an ex

Scene Shifting In Darkness Angers
Paris Theater-Goers.
Paris The performance of .Wag
ner's "Rheingold" at the Parts opera
was enlivened by protests from the
audience. Felix Welngartner, who
had been engaged to conduct the ring
series, persuaded the management,
Messager & IJroussan, to follow the
Beyreuth custom of having the scenes
changed in darkness or behind a veil
of steam, Imitating clouds.
The noise made on the stage cov
ered that made by the orchestra. A
couple of scene shifters during the
Interlude between the second and
third acts, started quarreling, and
they used language neither soft toned
nor parliamentary.
Then the audience took a hand a"hd
produced a symphony that Wagner
never could have rivaled a symphony
of whistling, catcalls, cries of "Shame
ful!" "That's enough!" and "Turn
them out!"
SOME MEN DO THIS
AFTER SEVERAL DRINKS
New York. Mrs. Selma Lewis,
who looks like a girl of twenty but
admits to many more years than that,
has a new method of keeping young
despite the passing of the years. It
Is a simple way, too, of defying the
inroads of Father Time, and consists
of talking to yourself whenever alone.
Of course, what you say to yourself
makes a lot of difference, and the
conversation must always be of an In
spiring and happy kind. And you
musn't whisper in a half-hearted,
shamed way, but talk right out loud
and tell yourself that you are young,
beautiful and whatever else you want
to he. Eventually, by auto-sugges
tion, you will get to believe it, and
then It is but a step to making other
believe it by looking and acting the
self-imposed part.
