DANCES JELLY WOBBLE
Prolonged Trembling of Hxly Are
Among Features of the New Diver
sion. Washington. Some members of
the dancing fifty of the Playhouse
club, which Includes Mrs. Alice Long-

Joseph Letter and the Misses Meyer,
are eagerly practicing the new dance,
"the Jelly wobble." ThU dance, which
Is oriental in effect, is rapidly dis
placing the turkey trot in society es
teem. Tho Jelly wobble movement Is
danced to a very slow music. It con
sifts of a Berles of prolonged tremb
les or shakings of the body combined
with deep swaying from side to aide.
A requisite is grace, and it takes '
long practice to acquire the difficult
movement. The emartest young peo
ple are working diligently to perfect
themselves In the new dance.
Only one or two ot the younger set
frown on these dances, chief among
the objectors being Miss Helen Taft,
who while an enthusiastic member
of the dancing fifty, refuses to tur
key trot, devil dance or Jelly wobble.
Many matrons of the 400 disapprove
heartily of those new dances.

Things never look bright to ene
