o EIGHT PAGES. DAILY EABT ORBOONIAJT, PENDLETON, OREGON, SATURDAY, JANUARY 27, 1912. PAGC SKYKH. 21 Drop of Blood Or little water from the human system when thoroughly tested by the chief chemist at Dr. Pierce's Invalids' Hotel, Buffalo, N. Y., tells the story of impoverished blood nervous exhaustion or tome kidney trouble. Such examinations are made without cost and is only small part o( the work of the staff of physicians and surgeons under the direction of Dr. R. V. Pierce giving the best medical advice possible without cost to those who wish to write and make full statement of symptoms. An imitation of natures method of restoring waste of tissue and impoverishment of the blood and nervous force is used when you take an alterative and glyceric extract of roots, without the use of alcohol, such as Dr. Pierce's Golden Medical Discovery Which make the stomach strong, promotes the flow of -jigestive juices, re stores the lost appetite, makes assimilation perfect, invigorates the liver and purines and enriches the blood. It is the great blood-maker, flesh-builder . and restorative nerve tonic. It makes men strong in body, active in mind and cool in judgment. Get what you ask for! 'te:C$ ' 11? There was weakness In the only lines that showed offerings at North Portland today. The extent of the congestion In the cattle trade Is much greater than had been anticipated and shippers at this time or within the immediate future are really mak ing money if they would keep their Htuff at home. The congested state of the local trade may be shown when it is noted that leading local killers have prac tically all the cattle they need for slaughter within the next three weeks, on ton nt thi must be added the ar rivals that will come forward during that period, making a rather uumouh outlook tor prices within the next month or so. Prices obtained in tho came mar tot ,liirinu- the nnst 24 ht urs aie mls- leadine in the extreme. The extreme top for cattle today at North Portland is $5.75. Fancy grain fed steers that would have readily moved a few weeks ago as high as $6.50 are not bringing above the lower figure now, and buyers are in no great hurry to take hold at that figure. " ' There was another enormous run of cattle In the local market today but the bu.k of the shipments were going to Puget sound, having been purchased In the country by north ern packers. Therefore they were merely watered and rented here to satisfy the provisions of the stock law. "I run a sew ing machine in a large factory and got - all run down. I had to give up work for I could not stand the pains in my back. The doctor said I needed an operation for female trouble but Lydia E. Pinkham's Vegetable Compound helped me more than the doctors did. I hope that every one who is suffering will get the Compound. My pains, nervousness and backache are gone and I have gained five pounds. I owe my thanks to your medicine for it is the working girls friend, and all women who suffer should write to you for special advice." Miss TlLLIE PLENZIG, 3 Jay St, Poughkeepsie, N. Y. Thirty-two cars out of total arrivals of 38 cars that came forward today to North Portland were direct ship ments to Puget sound killers. Of this amount 21 cars came from Wyoming direct and 11 loads from Idaho. All but one car of the day's total arriv als came from outside of the state. This was a load of cattle from Pen dleton. Hog Market Is Weak. Weak prices are shown In the hog trade at North Portland for the day. There were no arrivals available for the market one car going through to Puget sound, while thee were eight loads from Nebraska, which went di rect to local killers. The last sales of hogs at North Portland, which were late yesterday afternoon, went at $6.60. On the ba s's of the South Omaha market to day the eight loads that came for ward to killers cost them $7 25 to land here. Therefore they are today offering 65c per 100 pounds more for Nebraska swine than they are for lo cal hogs of equal qualit. This is causing much dissatisfaction among local producer:;, as well as receivers. Today's North Portland swine prices: Fancy mixed j6.6UQfb.bu Good heavy 6-B0 Good light 6.506.60 Medium light 6.50 Rough and honvy 6 40 Poor and heavy 6.00 Sheep Market Holds Firm. There were no offerings In the mut ton division at North Portland for the day. The big run of yesterday , was well taken care of and for old sheep former strength is generally main tained today.
