Herrick, being duly sworn, deposes and says : When I was a girl I had a head of heavy, long, dark brown hair which was the envy of my friends and which attracted the attention and remarks of strangers, but as I grew older it commenced to come out. When my hair was quite thin and gray, I was induced by the many good reports I had heard of Wyeth's Sage and Sulphur to try a bottle; and ycu can imagine my satis faction when I found my hair was fast coming back to its natural condition. I continued to use Sage and Sulphur until my hair was as heavy, dark and smooth as when I was a girl of sixteen. BOARD OF CONTROL1 AIDED BY OPINIONS Satem, Or.. Jan. 2. Several deci sions of great interest to water users have been handed down by the su preme court recently, which will be of great assistance to the board of control, In passing upon questions ap pertaining to water rights in adjudi cations pending before it. The case of McCoy vs. Huntley, appealed from Wheeler county, is the first case In this state which recognizes what is known as the rotation system among approprlators; that is, where the court's decree require a use of the water by the approprlators alternate ly, for stated periods of time, in pro port'on to their respective r.'ghts of use. "The principle announced in this case will be of great importance in future adjudication of water rights where there is such a scarcity of wa ter in the stream that all the lands re qulr'ng irrigation cannot be irrigated under any other system of water dis tribution," said a member of the board of control. "Rotation In the use of water has always been pro vided for in the determination orders of the board, and the court decrees based thereon, as there can be no question as the rights f increase nu merically along the different streams and the supply consequently dimin ishes, that no other method of distri bution will accomplish a proper divi sion of the water. It is gratifying to know that our supreme court is pay ing so much attention to these highly important phases of water adjudica tions." GOVERNMENT KINDS IT CAN SAVE THE SEAL TUPS Experiments Show Tlxvr Will Live In Kresh Mater and Can le Ked Arti fieally. Washington. The government an nounces that the experiments with the seal pups recently brought from Alas ka, two of which are at the New York aquarium, have demonstrated that these animals can be taught to take food when offered by man. They can be kept in captivity and carried long distances on veels or railroad trains without any special difficulty. They will live and thrive in fresh Wa aler. A salt water environment is not essential. Moreover, the young seals can live without any apparent discomfort in water of a much higher temperature than their natural habi tat. There are now a round dozen of these seal pups in the United States, and the bureau of Tsheries says .It believes the success of the experi ments shows a way for saving the hundreds of thousands of pups whose mothers are killed every year by the pelagic sea pirates. It would be ne-ce.-sary to feed the pups artificially only until the herd leares the Islands late In the fall. Then they might be permitted to leave the islands with the re?t of the pups and their chances of survival In the sea would be quite as good as any. The supplying of fur seals to public aquariums and zoolo gical parks is another possibility which seems practicable. The estab lishment of a colony of fur seals in some freshwater lake is another pros pect. The fur seals have proved to be the most interesting pets that have ever been kept In the Aquarium. They are the mot expert swimmers imag' Inable. Wessetl Are the Meek. Employer See here! Do you think you know more about this business than I do? i New Office Boy No, sir! Honest!
