High class Clnl-ttnaa beef is show
Ing a monopoly of thij movement at
North Portland at this time. The hon
ors are taken by 8. C. Oxman of Dur-
k'ce and A. II. Uurnum of Moro. Mr
Oxman has the honor of obtaining the
higheht price ever received in the
Portland stockyards for finished cat
tle, while Mr. Barnum receives the
credit for inaugurating the raising of
baby beef of quality, which invari
ab y sells at a much h'gher price than
doe ordinarily called fancy quality
or 3-year-olds
Sales of steers were made this
morning as high as 110 per hundred
pounds, this value being received by
Mr. Oxman for two animals that
weighed 1540 and 1320 pounds re
spectlvely. The same shipper sold
another animal at $9 and still anoth
er at $8.
Such a lot of h'gh priced stuff has
nnver before been seen at North
Portland, but the trade took hold and
paid prices with practically no delay.
Ordinary Cattle Firm. -
The big movement of high class
cattle has given the impression in
some quartern that the market is ex
tremely high for ordinary offerings,
but this Is not the case. Trade in the
cattle market at North Portland Is
firm for all offerings, but it is doubt
ful If the run of what is ordinarily
called "top" steers would bring above
$5.75 at tlvs time despite the fact
that some extra fancy stuff sold at al
most twice this figure.
Hogs Weak Hut Unchanged.
There was a weak tone in the hog
market today with no change in pri
ces. The 99 head that arrived sold at
$6.65. but this, continues the extreme
top of the trade at Portland and only
selected offerings would bring that
figure.
Sheep Firm unci Illglier.
Market for sheep and lambs is firm
er and higher at North Portland. Sales
made during the day were generally
at an advance of 10 to 15c over pre
vious transactions. There was a fair
showing of supplies in the yards this
morning and therefore killers took
hold quickly at the higher range.
Quality was likewise good and this
was a help.

How often one hears the expression
She Is gray nnd beginning to look
old." It is true that gray hair usual
ly denotes age and is always associat
ed with ago. You never hear one re
ferred to as having gray hair and
looking young.
The ha'r is generally the index of
age. If your hair Is gray, you can't
blame your friends for referring to
you as looking old. You can't retain
a youthful appearance if you allow
your hair to grow gray. Many persons
of middle age jeopardize their future
simply by allowing the gray hair to
become manifest If your hair has
become faded or gray, try Wyeth's
Sage and Sulphur Ha'r Remedy, a
preparation which a chemist by the
name of Wyeth devised a few years
ago. It is simple Inexpensive and
practical and will banish tho gray
hairs In a few days. It Is also guar
anteed to remove dandruff and pro
mote tho growth of the hair.
It is a pleasant dressing for the
hair, and after using it a few days
Itching nnd dryness of the scalp en
tirely disappear.
Don't neglect your hair. Start us
lntr Wyeth's Sage and Sulphur today,
