Seventeen coun ty prisoners working in a stone quar ry on the outskirts of Kansas City, Kan., mutinied, and after a revolver fight with their guards two of them escaped. Only two guards were on duty. A negro prisoner suddenly springing upon Owan Williams, the guard stationed at the mouth of the quarry, gave the signal for the mu tiny, Williams was severely beaten and his revolver taken from him. He proved himself a good employee and when his employers went to fc.ng land upon a visit Ford was left in charge of everything including the sales of wood, fruit, hay, hogs and any other salable products of the ranch. On their return they found that Mr. Trustworthy had departed a few days ' previous for another clime, It is alleged, with all the re ceipts of the ranch during their ab sence, which were far in excess of wages due him.
