Winnipeg May, 91c bid; Juy,
92 3-8c.
Iilucfetcm Higher,
Ulucstem wheat is being bid a cent
higher at 82c a bushel tidewater track
delivery while one Interest Is offer
ing as high as 79c for club same de
livery. Uoth of these quotations are
for California account.
A demand for bluestem has again
sprung up in the south and as no sup
plies could possibly be secured at the
former nominal quotation, bids were
raised a tent In an effort to take on
a few small lots.
While there Is a demand for our
wheat from California the total wants
of the south are limited Just now and
therefore only a restricted movement
may be expected.
Oats market is steady at $2727.
50 per ton for No. 1 white here, but
the movement Is small.
There is nothing doing In the bar
ley trade. Eastern shipments have
practically ceased owing to the short
age at interior Oregon-Washington
points. While feed barley Is firm
here, the demand is purely local.
Flour market remains quiet both
for patent and export. Xo change Is
announced in prices today.
Hay continues weak for all except
timothy of fancy quality. Prices are
nominally the same.
A portion of a load of hogs that
were light and of excellent quality
sold this afternoon at $9 in the stock
yards, thereby breaking all recent
records.
The cow that was sold by Kidwell
Caswell yesterday to J. C. Loncr-
gan at J6 was resold to a local meat
company at $6.75. Instead of being
held for the show, it will be dressed.
The entire livestock situation Is
firm in the North Portland yards. The
arrivals today were scattered and most
of them were late. The first hogs
available for the market since last
Friday came forward today and tops
were sold at the former high mark,
J 8.75. This compares with the best
price at Omaha at J6.95, which
means $8.05 to land the Nebraska
stuff at Pacific norjhwest packing
centers.
The cattle market is Indicating con
siderable strength for good quality
and recent sales of steers have been
made as high as J6.80, a number of
lots went at the high mark.
No sheep were showing in the yards
this morning, but the market is firm
at the advance of 10c quoted yester
day.
Cattle R. E. Young, Sisson, Cal.,
six loads.
Mixed stock Ed Knofr, Grange-
villc, Idaho one load cattle and hogs.
Hogs J. s. Flint, Junction City,
Or., one load.
Chickens Too High.
Chickens from the ice house are
again going into consumption as the
result of the recent high record reac i-
ed by live poultry along Front street.
While the receipts of chickens are
scarcely any better than last week,
buyers did not take hold of the arrrv-
als nearly so eagerly as they did a
few days ago. The ordinary coops
that are now coming forward are not
worth more than 21c a pound while
hens would naturally be worth a frac
tion more than this.
No hens are coming forward for
the reason that farmers are loath to
part with their laying stock in the
midst of the egg season. For that
reason the quotation on hens may be
considered nominal.
Importations of frozen chickens
from the east are again starting and
this is likely to have a lowering eftect
upon the live poultry situation here.
While the trade does not take kindly
to the ice house goods, still, the groat
height that prices have reaoJicd In
the fresh poultry market, ha stimu
lated to a great extent the consump
tive demand for frozen sum lies.
Movement in the egg market Is
much better and for that reason most
1-andlers are asking 21c for fresilt
candled stock. This Is for local raicli.
Eastern f-vt-h eggs, while generally
considered of the same quality as the
home product are not so easy to sell
and most of them are going at 2flc
to 20 l-2c.
Ke;"lpts of eggs are nit quite so
heavy and the demand is Increasing.
Since the retail price w.u cut irein-r-ally
to 25c a dozen the public Is oliv
ine: more eggs than formerly.
With the opMiing f the Len'en sfv
son tomoirotv there will i i.uraliy be
a Mill greater call for eggs and this
i;- ejferted to keep the tic'.. . lier
steady for a while at least.
Hutter market continues mixed.
City creamery Is being maintained nt
32c to 34c a pound In prints, while
outside stocks (state brands) are be-
inp- sold from 29.; to 30c, except i'or
the better known ones which are sell
ing at the same price as city cream-
ei y.

ITS YOUR KIDNEYS.

Troubles A Pendleton Citizen
Shows now to Cure Them.
Many people never suspect their
kidneys. If suffering from a lame.
weak or aching back they think that
It Is only a muscular weakness; when
urinary trouble sets In they think It
will soon correct itself. And so It Is
with all the other symptoms of kid
ney disorders. That Is just where the
danger lies. You must cure these
troubles or they may lend to diabetes
or Brtght's disease. The best rem
edy Is Doan's Kidney Pills. It cures
all Ills which are caused by weak or
diseased kidneys. Pendleton people
testify to permanent cures.
Mrs. Thomas Myers, 809 E. Court
street, Pendleton, Oregon, says: "A
member of uor family complained a
greet deal of sharp pains In the back
and was also caused much trouble by
two frequent psssakes of the kidney
secretions. When a trial of Doan's
Kidney Pills was suggested, this rem
edy was procured and the contents of
two boxes restored the kidneys to a
normal condition, bringing relief from
all the distressing symptoms of kid
ney complaint."
