Today's run of livestock was one of
the greatest that ever entered the lo
cal yards. The shipment was delay
d and most of the arrivals should
have arrived In time for trading yes
terday but were not put up for sale
until this morning.
Trading started brisk In the yards
today and former prices on cattle
were maintained despite the liberal
showing. Packers' wants were heavy
and they were forced to buy at bet
ter prices than they expected to give.
The market recently has been famish
ed and with no surplus available In
the hands of killers they were forc
ed to depend upon the dally arrivals
for their operations.
The present situation In the cattle
market Is one of the best ever shown
in the country . and shippers have
things their own way. Those who
have the qualllty can demand almost
any price within reason and get away
with It while even the offerings of
poor quality get a very liberal value.
Hogs and sheep were quoted this
morning around the range formerly
held In effect.

as to the state of the market. While
most-of the trade Is holding extra
candled stock firmly at 36c a dozen,
and one house stated this morning
that It had placed the. price at 87c,
others assert their Inability to get
more than 34c and say they cannot
clean up at this figure.
Just why there should be such a
wide spread In quotations on fresh
ranch eggs at this time Is beyond un
derstanding in view of the change In
weather. Whllo receipts to date have
not shown any decrease, still most
Front street interests assert that they
are entirely cleaned up.
By some it is asserted that the ones
who are boosting local ranch eggs at
this time are doing so merely to sell
their eastern product at a higher
range, but while this was probably
true some weeks ago, It is not now.
Naturally the holders of eastern eggs
would benefit by any upward move-
ment In local egg prices at this time. Pills relieved my acnes ana psms w

bidding up to 86c a bushel track, but
buyers say they are finding little for

who were formerly holding bluestem
no higher than 84c are today quoting
86c.
Still another advance of 6c a ton Is
quoted for brewing barley at Interior
