Portland buyers are anxiously awaiting sup plies of a better grade of sheep and lambs and indicate their Intention of pnyliiR- nmre money for the better class of stuff. Strictly No. 1 grain fed wethers are today worth $3 In the north Portland yards with range fed at $4.50. However on account of the general scarcity of sheep and lambs there is a demand today for all class of shipments. A differential of about 60c Is being offered for grain fed sheep and lambs over the rango offerings. So successful have been the plans of the city authorities In this regurd that an extension of the present system will be adopted. The playgrounds, under the man agement of capable directors, have proved of such value that the board had no hesitancy In providing more for next year.
