Portland, Or., July 18. Cattle were
weaker today because of the greater
supply of poor quality offering. Only
a small amount of good stuff came
forward, but this received good atten
t;on from buyers nnj values remained
about an previously quoted.
Packers cut the price of poor stuff
about 25c because they wanted to dis
courage the shipment of this class of
stock.
Hops remained about as previously-
quoted and sales were made ax high
n. $10.25 for select quality.
Sheep market was dull.
Among Die Shlpers.
L. Stubblefiold had a load of hogs
from Ridby. Idaho.
Mi-Kinnon & Chandler shipped a
mixed load of cattle, calves and hogs
from Elgin and a load of cattle from
I.a crande.
W. H. Harris had four loads of cat
tle from La Grande.
L. Fulton was In with two loads of
cattle from the same point.
A. W. Pope was another shipper of
cattle from Welser. He had two loads
offering today.
Henline & Ohllnger shipped eight
loads of hogs from Nebraska direct to
the Union Meat company.'
Frank Wann was an arrival from
Hubbard with a load of cattle, calves
nr.il sheep.
W. P. Mason shipped a load of
h"fc. from Welser.
F. K. Hodman came In with a load
of sheep from Baker City.
Kid well & Caswell had cattle offer
ing from Elgin.
B. S. Norwood was In from Harrls-
burg with a load of cattle.
Lander &. Grubb had cattle from
Wilbur.

Notice is hereby given, that the
Common Council of the City of Pen
dleton on July 13, 1910, adopted plans
and specifications for the construe'
tion of a sewer system In the City of
Pendleton and proposes to construct
said sewer system In accordance with
such plans and specifications, and
proposals are hereby invited for fur
nishing the material therefor and the
construction thereof, bids to specify
the price for which said Improvement
will be completed, and to he itemized
on blanks to be furnished by the City
Recorder, to embrace the following
Items:
For furnishing all material and all
labor to complete sewer, as per plans
and specifications.
For furnishing all pipes to be used
upon said work, F. O. B. Pendleton.
For furnishing all material except
pipe and all labor to complete sewer,
as per plans and specifications.
Which bids shall be accompanied
by a certified check for five per cent
of the amount bid, payable to the
Mayor of the City of Pendleton, and
the Common Council reserves the
right to reject any and all bids; all
bids to be filed with the Recorder of
the City of Pendleton on or before
the 27th day of July, 1910.
