Mcho, Oru., July S. The streets of
B'ho presented quite a deserted ap
ju-uranoe yesterday, the Inhabitants
being scattered. Some were at Pilot
Rock and others in the mountains,
but the majority went to Stanfield,
while smut" spent a quiet day picnick
ing along the river. In thu evening
the town was very much alive with
fireworks.
Harvest Is now In full blast here.
It has been several days since harvest
lug bexan on the earlier grain, but
this morning sees many more ma
chines in the fields. Everybody Is
busy with either combine or header.
The majority of the rarmers In this
district are using combines us they
find them more satisfactory.
Mrs. O. C. Spencer of Wasco, ac
companied by her daughter, Mrs. Call
Everitt of the same place, and sinter,
Mrs. Henrlch of The Dalles, were
here last week visiting with Mr, and
Mrs. Otis McCarty of Butter creek,
returning home on Saturday.
Heventy-five chuirs and thirteen
crates of feats arrived here this morn
ing from Chicago for the Methodist
church. Work is being rapidly push
ed "ii the building and it will soon
be ready for use.
Mr. and Mrs C. II. Johnson of Pen
dleton were her yesterday visiting
with Mr. and Mrs. C. R. Lisle,
S. I,, Clark, our Presbyterian min
ister, returned last night from Irrl
gon and Umatilla where he had been

It will operate a seaside hospital at

the hospital nt New Dorp Beach. A
