E. II. Shepard, who has been mak
ing some experiments In the spray
line, states that last fall he sprayed
his trees with blue Vltrnl, says the
fJlacler. In the spring Just before the
buds commenced to swell he sprayed
them with Hordeaux mixture and for
other sprays used Rordenux mixed
with arsenate of lead except for the
calyx spray. As a result he says that
an examination which he has Just
made. In his orchard discloses the fact
that less than one-half per cent of
the fruit Is wormy or stung, but one
per cent shows any trace of fungus.
The damp weather this year Is said
to have developed considerable fungus
