Milton, Sept. 7. John Zull, one of
Milton's pioneers, died on Thursday
hint ufter a prolonged illness. Ha had
been a resident of this section for
over 30 ycurs. The funeral was largo
ly attended und Interment was had in
the city cemetery. Ho Is survived
by his son, L. 13. Zell, a prominent
fruit man living about one mile south
of Milton.
Clyde Broxon, who Is farming the
McEwen ranch on the foothills, has
probably the banner wheat crop In
the northern part of Umatilla coun
ty, getting 45 bushels per acre from
400 acres and selling at 76 cents per
bushel.

of the Osage tribe, the "richest peo
ple in the world," are today going
about wearing broad smiles and with
pockets full of bills, as a result of
the payment of the fall Installment of
oil and gas royalties. Each of the
2250 Osages, from aged chief to the
newest papoose, share In this distri
bution. Scarcely a month passes but that
the Osuge Indians are called upon to
come and get a designated sum of
money, the payment of an annuity
of one of the many funds In which
the tribe shares. Besides their roy
alties from oil and gas, the Osages
share In an Immense fund vested with
the national government and various
tribal funds, such as the revenue
from grazing and agricultural leases
and various other sources.
These Indians accept the money
as a matter of course, never knowing
what it means to be "broke" In the
