SINCE USING CUTICURA
MOTHER GIVES IT PRAISE
"Several month ago, my little boy,
now two and a half years old, began to
urea out wun
itching sores. I
began to doc
tor him, and aa
toon as I got
them healed up
In one place they
would break out
in another. I
was almost In
despair. Ieould
not gft anything
that would help
him. One even
ing I read a tes
timonial from ft
lady who had cured her little boy with
Cuticura. 1 began to use the Cuticura
Soap and Cuticura Ointment, and after
using them three times, the sores com
menced to heal. Ho is now well, and
not a scar is left on his body.- They
have never returned nor left him with
bad blood, as one would think. Cuti
cura Hemedies are the best I have ever
tried, and they ore surely great. I
shall always have them in the house,
handy, and shall highly recommend
them to any one who is suffering likewise.
I cannot give them too much praise.
Mrs. William deeding, 102 Washington
St., Attica, Ind., July 22, 1907."

IDAHO RAISES VALUES
Or TELEGRAPH LINES
Attempt to Raise Valuation of Rail
Romls to $17,000 Per Mile Failed
and a $15,000 Per Mile Bnwls Was
Agreed Upon Telegraph and Tele
phono Lines Must Pay More.
The Boise Capital News says of the
efforts of Idaho assessors to raise
the vulue of telegraph and telephone
lines and railroads:
A flat ralso of 10 per cent on as
sessed valuations of telegraph lines, a
proportionate ralso on telephone lines
niul a raise of $2000 per mile on as
sessed valuation of the Oregon Short
Line. Northern Pacific and Great
Northern, and a proportionate raise
on branch lines and on other lines,
with the exception of the Pacific &
Idaho Notthern, has been made by
the state board of equalization over
the assessed valuations on such prop
erty for 1907.
The schedules showing the actual
Increase in assessed valuations for
1908 have not been completed by the
state auditor's office which Is busily
engaged In preparing these, and
which expects to have them ready in
the course of a few days.
A raise of $4000 per mile In as
sessed valuations of railroads was de
sired by Governor Gooding, he mak
ing a motion that railroads be assess
ed at $17,000 a mile. State Treasur
er Hastings moved that railroads be
assessed at $16,000 per mile, neither
of these motions receiving a second.
Railroad nt $15,000 Per Mile.
State Auditor Bragaw moved that
railroads be assessed at $15,000 per
mile for 1908, and the motion was
carried. Governor Gooding being the
only member of the board dissenting.
Main line roads will accordingly be
assessed at $15,000 per mile, a pro
portionate Increase In the assessed
valuations of branch lines being ma.de.
The two small roads, the Pacific &
Idaho Northern and Idaho Northern,
located In Canyon and Owyhee coun
ties will bo assessed at $2300 per
mile, the same as last year, it being
shown that these lines have not been
paying during tho past year.
A flat raise of 10 per cent In as
sessed valuations of telegraph lines
was made by the board. The sched
ules showing the raises made Is be
ing prepared by the stato auditor,
and the clerks of the office.
Telephone alines were divided Into
two classes In accordance with the
statement made by telephone repre
sentatives to the board that some of
their country lines were assessed too
high Inst year. '
Twenty PtT Cent Raise.
Class A of telephone lines Is as
sessed nt $175 per mile, while class
I! Is assessed nt $50 a mile. A 20
per cent raise over valuations for
1907 was made on additional copper
and Iron wire. Cables were assessed
at 10 cents per foot, which Is an in
crease of 5 cents per foot over the
assessed vnluntlon for 1907.
The Independent telephone lines
nrc assessed at the same rate as last
year, the main line being assessed at
$100 per mile for the first wire and
pules.
The Interstate Telephone company,
In northern Idaho, Is raised from $40
per mile for last year to $50 per
mile. The assessed valuation for
1908 which Is an Increase of 10 per
cent Is for the first wire and poles.
The Postal Telegraph Is assessed at
J50 per mile for the first wire, no as
sessment being made for poles as the
company uses the poles of other lines
not maintaining any of Its own. A
20 per cent increase over 1907 an
all additional wires of the Postal was
made by the board.

"The worth of Electric Bitters as a
general family remedy, for headache,
bllllousness and torpor of the liver
and bowels Is so pronounced that I

relief from such afflictions. There is
more health for the digestive organs
