the M. E. church. The music will
be by the children and a sermon for
the occasion will be preached. At 3
o'clock In the afternoon the two
lodges of I. O. O. F. will hold their
annual memorial service at the
church. Special musical program for
this and a sermon by the pastor for
the occasion. The first of a series
of stereopticon sermons will begin at
the evening service. The theme of

Field Glass Through Oriental Lands
and 'What I Saw There." These views
wre taken by the pastor In person In
Egypt, Palestine and Asia Minor. All
the familiar gospel hymns have been
arranged for the screens so that all

Rotterdam, June 13. The new
twin screw steamer Rotterdam, of
the Holland-American line, sails to
day on her maiden trip for New Tork.
The first sailing from New Tork will
be on July 1.
The new Rotterdam Is a vessel of
the Leviathan type. 668 feet long, 77
feet wide, 4S feet deep, 17 knots speed
and ranks among the greatest trans
continental liners of the present day.
Her registered tonnage is 24,170, her
displacement 37,190 tons, while she
offers accommodation for 505 first
class passengers, 520 second class and
2000 third-class passengers.
AMUSEMENTS
Pastiiuo Change.
There will be a change of pictures
at the Pastime this evening and to
morrow, among the new attractions
being "Orphans' Easter Eggs," "Awk
ward Orderly," "Perverse Statue,"
"Ice Cream Jack," "Misadventure of
an Equilibrist," and that beautiful Il
lustrated song, "L'pon a Sunday
Morning When the Church Bells
Chime." This program will continue
over Sunday and Is very appropriate
for the Sunday crowds.

The Dime will have an entire
change of moving pictures tomorrow
all new and up todate. The manage
ment announces some excellent pic
tures for the next week. The pictures
the past few days have been the best
ever shown In the city, especially
those of the fleets and "Nero and the
Rurnlng of Rome."
Delegate In Chicago.
Chicago, June 13. With the new
York delegation leading the van, and
other delegates and politicians pour
ing In from ail over the country. Chi
cago has already commenced to as
sume the appearance of a national
convention city. Lobbies of all the
leading hotels are swarming with ex
cited, gesticulating exponents of the
great America game of politics and
the names of the presidential and
vice presidential candidates are on
every tongue. The big New York
delegation Is not highly enthusiastic
In Its advocacy of Hughes and has
scarcely made an Impression In the
solid phalanx of Tatt boomers. Ad
herents of a "second elective term"
for Roosevelt are also here In force
and are making a great deal of noise.

ed by the third annual trl-state turn
fest, Germans from all over Missouri,
Kansas and Nebraska are the guests
of St. Joseph Turners today and will

competitive games, field sports and
drills will be held tomorrow and
Monday at Lake Contrary and will b
participated In by several hundred
