Will Deliver Seven Political Speeches
in Tills County Friday and Satur
day. Governor Chamberlain Is now slat
ed for, seven political speeches In this
county all to be delivered on Friday
and Saturday of this week.
Upon his arrival here Friday the
governor will be taken by -auto north
ward and will speak at the different
towns along the line as follows:
At Adams, 10 a. m. Friday.
At Ahena, 1:30 p. m. Friday.
At Weston, 4 p. m. Friday.
At Free water, 7:16 p. m. Friday.
At Milton, 8:30 p. m. Friday.
At Pendleton, 2:30 p. m. Saturday.
At Echo, 8 p. m. Saturday.
The governor's address here will be
delivered at the fair pavilion and will
be in the nature of a large open air
rally.
Independent Ticket.
Independent candidates for district
attorney, representative and Joint rep
resentatlve have now been brought
forward and petitions are now being
circulated and will be filed before
May IS, when all Independent candl
dates must be listed.
For district attorney R. J. Slater
will run against G. W. Phelps, repub
lican nominee, while W. T. Shaw of
Milton, will run against L. L. Mann
for representative and Joe N. Scott
will race against T. J. Mahoney for
Joint representative.
According to Will M. - Peterson,
deniocralc county chairman, all three
gentlemen have declared their wlll-
ngness to run and will accept Inde
pendent nominations.
OREGON AGAIN FILLED.
"The Girl I Left Beldnd Me" Will Be
Seen for Last Time.
The Oregon theater was again well
filled last evening for the second pro
ductlon of ::The Girl I Left Behind
Me," which Is so well presented by
the Streeter-Bryan company, and to
night this play will be presented for
the last time.
This is a military production with
a pretty romance running tnrougn
the soldiers, Indians, call to war and
all making It very sensatloal through
out. It Is one of the best attractions
yet presented by the company. With
the clever lot of performers the man'
agement has at this time the company
Is strong, with Miss Bryan and Mr,
Streeter in the leading parts.
Tomorrow night there will be
change of program when "Tennessee's
Partner" will be presented. This is
one of the best bills on the repertoire
and will run until Friday night, when
the well known old play "East
Lynne," will be presented for two
nights by special request also for the
Saturday afternoon matinee.
Miss Bryan will entertain the little
folks on the stage after the matinee
as she has done In the past
