To the Public :
Announcement is hereby made of the opening of the Pend
leton Office of this Company, in the E. 0. building, corner of
Main and Webb streets, for the sale of Furnish-Coe lands under
the Furnish Irrigation Project.
Mr. D. B. Costuma, an active and successful New York
business man, who has been making a careful analytical study
of the entire land problem of the United States, relative to affiil
iation with some thoroughly reliable and definitely settled preject,
has honored the project by assuming entire charge of the Pend
leton Office. 1 was more than pleased, while in Pendleton this
week, to hear him say that he was so firmly impressed with the
future of the city that when his work with our company shall
be finished, (and our lands will all be sold within the year,) that
he had determined to remain and take up other business there.
The Pendleton Office was opened primarily fpr the convenience of travelers, tourists and
homeseekers from the Ea3t, who should he in Pendleton. Our Mr. Marsh writes me yesterday
from Yakima, "Any land set to fruit is selling here for from $500 to $2500 per acre." I felt
that Pendleton should have an opportunity to reap some of the rich project, and that was also
a reason for opening the Pendleton Office.
1 ask the good people of Pendleton and surrounding country
to be good to Mr. Costuma. He is still a stranger among you.
