$9500 SI loop Bring $36,475.
The largest sheep deal made In this
county In some time was thnt made
a few days ago by J. C. Lloyd and
Robt. Hamilton whereby the former
sold to the latter 6000 head of Iamb
at 33.60 per head and 3500 head of
yearlings nt 31.25 per head, to be
delivered In the early, part of Sep
tember at Mr. Lloyd's corralB on the
Menntsash. This makes a total of
336,475. Mr. Lloyd's lambs and
yearling have heretofore for many
years been shipped to Chicago about
this time of year, but this season, ow
ing to the excellent prices offered at
home he decided to sell at home and
avoid the risks attendant on selling
at so great a distance at a time when
railroad transportation Is so uncer
tain and unsatisfactory.
It Is understood that Mr. Hamilton
has brought these lambs and year

ter ns a speculation. They will shear
a good clip of wool and presumably
bring a high price as yearlings and
two-year-olds In the same market at

Protest Rates on Fruit.
The .express cost of sending fruit te

complaint of the company In concrete
form Is that the chnrges on a certnln

Some shippers say that the sched
ule has hitherto been applied to short
hauls only, but that when a number
of cars were sent forward on the long
haul to the Twin Cities the express
people, Instead of adhering to the
dlxed weight, considered that they
were entitled to the actual weight
The new plan, If adhered to, makes
express shipments a rather burden
some undertaking while on the oth
er hand the freight trains scheduled
for a 6-day haul cannot be depended
upon to deliver the goods under 10
days. The situation Is such that de
velopments are awaited. Yakima

comes anxious about hi condition. I
procured Doan's Kidney Pills, used
them, and they cured me. About a
year ago I came to Washington, and
shortly afterwards noticed symptoms
of my old trouble. I procured Doan's
Kidney Pills at the Pendleton Drug

no sign that I had ever had a touch
