The ma chine that breaks It will have to fan the breeze. The run was mado on an nveriiKe of 21 3-7 miles nn hour. This record was mmlo by W. B. Mow, n young banker of Walla Walla, driving his own 20-horBe power touring car, which arrived in Boise yesterday afternoon. He was accompanied from his homo city by H. 1'. Preston, manager of the In land Auto romruny of Walla Wallu. At Uaker City the men picked up Mrs. Prerton nnd Miss Margaret Mcsslck of Snlrm, who accompanied them to Poise. "We stopped a couplo of days In Raker City before starting for llolse. The illstance between the two cities Is nearly 170 miles, and we made the trip In exactly nine hours. The women prently enjoyed the fast drlv- '""Thc roads were good nnd bad. Coming out of the Wulln Walla val ley tlio roads were excellent, but the trip over the Blue mountains was the roughc-l I ever made. Climbing the mountains from the other side we caiio up steep pitches that made the car exert all tho power it had, great boulders being In the road over which the machine had to climb- Then coming down Into Summervllle the descent was very rouRh. Wo came over tho old toll gate road, and ours I the first trip ever made over the road by an nutomobllo. "But the worst valley roads wo en countered were after we crossed the snako river at olds' ferry. From there to llolso the roads were very I, a,l."Holsc Statesman. Faithful Shepherd Dork.
