Work was begun some time ago on an extension of the Oregon Short Line from St. Anthony, Idaho, to the Madison river entrance at the south west corner of the park. It is now more than half completed and the Harrlman engineers constructing the line say that the track will be laid this year on the portion remaining to be built. There is a gap of only about IS miles between the finished porttcn of the Yellowstone Park rail road, as the new line is to be called, and its terminus at the Madison riv er point ot entry. . ijtf&W Scenically the new railway route throuKh the Colorado Rockies will be very attractive. Langdon of College place was elected president of the conference for the ensuing year. This is the second term ot office for Mr. J-angdon. A baptlrmal was held yesterday, when about 100 people were bap tised. The visiting elders In attend ance were: K. C. Russell of Washington, D. D., H. J. Dirkson of Portland, H. W. Decker of Portland. There Is also a full representation of the elders of the local district pres ent who are: L. A. Gibson and H. J. Schnepper of College Place, E. W. Catlln of North Yakima, W. H. Sax hy and W. W. Steward of Boise, W. A. Alway of Pocatello, F. D. Wagner of Pomerov and H. W. Olliver of Twin Falls. Evangelistic services are held frequently and at some of these meetings there has been as high as 200 people gone forward for prayer. At a conference session yesterday It was decided to divide the conference district, taking off the southern part of Idaho and the eastern part of Ore gon and Joining that country Into a new conference which will be organ I zed soon after the present meeting. The conference district formerly in cluded that part of the states of Washington and Oiegon, east of the Cascade mountains and all of Idaho. Special Meeting.
