He also stated that stomach trouble Is the foundation for a great many diseases, and that his New Discovery as It Is called, would prove very ef fective In all cases of rheumatism, simply by getting ttye stomach In working order. That this prophecy has been ful filled cannot be doubted after a half hour spent at the young man's head quarters, listening to what his call ers have to say. A reporter who watchedto ascertain If possible, some light on the reasons for the Immensity of Cooper's success Interviewed about 20 of his callers yesterday afternoon. The statements made by those seen indicate that phy sicians who claim that Cooper Is merely a passing fad, have not look ed Into the facts. Some of these statements were as follows: Mrs. Anna B. Hampton, living at 1422 Michigan avenue, upon being questioned, said: "I have been troubled with general debility, weakness, dizziness, head ache, sleeplessness and stomach trou ble for over three years. I had tried ft number of medicines aqd visited several doctors, but hdhe helped me. I heard on all sides of these Cooper remedies and decided to try them. Any one who says they are not won derful medicines,' does not know what they are talking about. After I used the first bottle I noticed a decided improvement. I have taken three bottles of the New Discovery and I now feel as well as I ever have In my life. I sleep and eat as I have not done for years, and I am happier than I have been for a long time. I have come her to thank Mr. Coop er for what he has done for me." ' The statement of John F. Ehrndal, living at J7 N. 11th street, was as follows:' .' "I have suffered with stomach trouble and constipation for a year or so. When I ate I ' would have bloated spells, tour stomach, fermen tatlon, bad taste In my mouth. In the morning I was as tired as when I went to bed. I had a dull pain In the lower part of my back, and had to get up several times In the night I have almost taken one bottle of the New Discovery and I am so wonder fully Improved that I have come down here to thajik Mr. Cooper In person and obtain more of the medicine." Another statement was made by Miss Margaret Gordan, living at 210 Center street, who said: OVER HALF OF f 15.000 CASH FOR HOTEL RAISED Many Arc Attending the Adventlst Cainpnietlng at College Place Woodmen of World Entertained Walla WaUans Cherries Will be Plentiful Next Week Recovering From Barbed Wire Cuts All Crops in Fine Condition Miss Stmonds Wou a Prlxe. Rock Springs, June 5. The situa tion with regard to the attempt to unionize this city remains practically the same as for the past three days. Every mine in the city has been shut down and with the exception of the outside men, the office force, etc., there are no employes of a coal com pany in Rock Springs. Sweetwater No. 1, four miles south, and Superior, 12 miles north, are working full and at present there Is nothing on the surface to indicate that the men are in sympathy with the movement go ing on here. . While the town Is thronged with unemployed men, there Is absolutely nothing to Indicate dissatisfaction on the part of any of them. The men are quiet, courteous and. in going to and from their meetings, which are being held almost every day, they are orderly, attending strictly to their own affairs. While a few names are being add ed to the rolls each day, there are probably more people leaving the town than have signed the rolls. The organizers have established head quarters in the Griffiths block, on North Front street, and from Indica tions, they expect to stay here and look after the situation for some time if the union should be recognized by the coal companies. The Central Coal & Coke com. pany Is moving all Its former em ployes out of the buildings situated around Its mlfie here. The Japs have bean taken to Sweetwater and plac ed In the mine there, as have some of the other men. ' The ramlnder that have signed the rolls are getting places to stay where they can. The Union Pacific has not as yet taken any steps In ejectment, nlthough It Is expected that this procedure will be. gin some.tlme during the coming week. Numerous of the old time miners. who have not signed the rolls, are drawing their time and leaving town with their families. During the past week, probably 20 foreigners, mostly Finns, have left for their native land. Munn's crops have suffered severe ly for water. Henry J. Snivel- represents the re- later, Munn, and various attorneys hold briefs for the 115 defendants. Attorney Avery of Spokane represents one defendant named Redman, who Is employed by the government to watch the ditches which lead from the creek. Mr. Avery is United States attorney, and In the suit which will eventually be brought, be will represent the Indians who. claim prior rights arising from a treaty with the government entered into In 1855. The cases will be heard by Judge Kauffman of Ellensburg, who will try them all at one time, as they are exactly similar. Yakima Republic. The hotels of Seattle In all proba bllitv will organize a company for the construction and operation of a large co-operative laundry plant on account of the Increase In the prices of laundry which went Into effect June S. The Increase runs all the way from 10 per cent to 50 per cent, and the hotel men declare that It Is out rageous. --- Ahtanum .Water Cases In Court. . The famous Ahtanum water cases are again In court. D. J. Munn, as relater, has brought suit against 115 defendants for damages caused - by appropriating the crater of Ahtanum creek and rendering the stream dry when It reached the Munn farm. Munn claims to have a prior appro priation which he purchased from settlers, and subsequent settlers have occupied the land farther up the creek and. have constructed laterals from the stream until, It Is alleged. TUB MASK OF HEALTH. Few People Are Really As Well As They Look Cause and Remedy. Many people In' Pendleton both men and women, who believe them selves to be In perfect health, are of ten In the greatest danger. Indigestion, which Is so common a trouble, is the principal cause of the greater share of the general poor health. It has misleading symptoms that seem, to have no reference to the stomach, such as headache, sleep lessness, specks before the eyes, pains In the back and side, etc. The success of physicians every where with the prescription that is now embodied In Ml-o-na stomach tablets has made this remedy In the last few years the acknowledged spe cific for the treatment of stomach diseases. The secret of this success lies In the fact that Ml-o-na is pre pared expressly to strengthen the dl gestlve organs and Its use for a few days puts the whole dlgestlvo sys tem in such shape that it can care for all of the food that Is eaten with out natn or distress. Simply take a Ml-o-na stomach tablet before each meal and on re tiring, and it will so strengthen the stomach that you can enjoy a hearty meal without the least fear of dis tress or suffering. Tallman A Co. gives an absolute unqualified guarantee that your mon cy will be refunder unless Ml-o-na cures. They take the whole risk and the remedy will not cost you a pen ny unless It cures you. Over a year ago the republican party uledsed Itself to the construction of a city asphalt plant, but the high cost of paving since that time has aerer- ed the city officials from pushing the project.
