George Gratten closed a contract today with the Kettcnbach Grain company of Lewiston for the erection at Grangovllle, Fcnn, Cottonwood, Ferdinand, Vollmer and Reubens. The contract calls for warehouses of the dimension of fifty by two hun dred feet and the first structure will bo erected nt Vollmer where the ma terial Is already on tho ground. Mr. Oratton and seven carpenters left for Vollmer today where work will be commenced Immediately. All the warehouses are to be completed by October nnd this fuct Is of Inter est In showing the probable comple tion of the rood by that tlmo on which lino all the towns ' for "-which warehouse have been contracted arc situated. ! This question has been pending for some time, the stock holders having authorized - the sev eral boards to moke the consolida tion If terms could be mutually agreed upon. At the close of yester day's meetings. General Manager Thomas R. Cutler Btatcd that plans had been submitted which had been unanimously approved by nil three boards. The propositions would have to bo submitted to the eastern stock holders, and If approved by them, special meetings of the stockholders here would bs called to effect the consolidation. In view of the proposed merger, the officers of the company strongly advise stockholders not to part with their holdlrlgs in any of the com panies at present market prices, which have been depressed for some tim'!- past. Convicted of Killing a Moose. State Game Warden Stephens re turned last evening from Rexburg, where he went from St. Anthony af ter the trial of L. A. Graves, a prom inent rancher of Ashton, Fremont county,- whose case on the charge of violating the game laws was held at Pt. Anthony Monday before Probate Judge Donaldson. Graves Is charged with killing "a moose, a fine large head of which was found In his possession by P.. A. Osliorn of Island Park, deputy game warden. At his trial Graves admitted killing the moose, said Mr. Stephens, hut said he did not kill It In Idaho and violated no. law. He would not tell where ho killed the animal. He was found guilty and his attorney, J. D. Mlllsaps of St. Anthony, gave no tlee of appeal of the case to the dis trict court. Graves wns released on bond. I Right-of-way Agent J. B. Eddy re turned this week from Joseph, where he secured some more ground for terminal purposes. It Is the plnn to construct a "Y" at Joseph which will be sufficient In extent to per mit the turning of an entire train. Mr. Eddy reports that good progress Is being made with the grade In the canyon, and In fact all along the line. He thinks that the grading will be out of the way by the time the track layers are ready for the road ben and as soon as the big bridges are put In the track laying will be car ried forward without Intermission.
