Price of Water for Sewer Flushing.
The Capital News has had pre
pared from an authentic source ar.
estimate of the expense of flushing
the sewers of the city nt tho price
of 10 cents per thousand gallon!!, the
price fixed In the Perrault franchise.
This estimate Is based on the exact
' capacity of the flush tanks nnd their
eznet number, xhnws that there are
R7 flush tanks lmVlntf u CnpncHy of
, 2,300,600 galloon. Should these nil
be used even once a dny at their full
en parity, It would entail nn expense
of 32n0.nr per clay upon th people.
In fact, It would cost much more than
that Tor sojne of the tanks are con
rCted with the Artesian company's
water system and that company re
ceives IS cents per thousand gnllons
Instead of 10 cents here counted. But

he connected with Mr. Pcrrault's ca
nal hence the figures are used as In
dictated In his franchise, as It would
be fair to presume that the water
would ultimately all be used from
that canal. But the two companies
have always worked in entire har
mony just as much as they ' could
were they only one company, as in
fact, some people believe they are, so
it migh be that the larger price would
be paid.
Whllo this great expense of 3230.65

city, the estimates show that the
maximum expense actually necessary
In flushing the sewers dally, Is only
$5.22 por day.

March was quite a prosperous

In these reclamation projects, tho
