Is what a coroner's Jury which sat upon the l,ody of William McGlbbon at Wal lula Saturday afternoon, believed to be the ccuse of the death of the man found dead In his barn several days ago. It was thought at the time that McGlbbon had been kicked by his licrte, as he was found lying near Its heels, but after he was burled the story was passed around among his neighbors thnt he had been killed. So persistent were these rumors 1' at Coroner MacMartln thought it advisable to Investigate the matter. He went down to Wallula Friday af ternoon with Di. C. A. Hauber, for the purpose of holding a nautopsy and Inquest. i Testimony was taken Saturday af ternoon before a Jury which brought In their verdict: "We find thnt deceased came to his death by a fracture of the skull, compound. Inflicted by persons un known." Considerable talk Is going about at Wallula among the neighbors of the death that he met his death at the hands of a former employe. Salem, April 1. The state sheep commission is preparing to wage war against scab, the infectious disease which has played havoc with the sheep Industry, , and when It Is rec ognized that Oregon has more than 1 r.00.000 sheep cast of the Cascadts t.nd more than 276,000 in the coun ties comprised in the first district, it Is evident that the commission has plenty of work to do in that direc tion. The Inspection In the vallew will be esrrled on under federal super vision by the county Inspectors. The li speotlon while rigid Is not Intendel to work a hardship on any sheep raiser. It will be the duty of each Inspec tor to keep a record of the number of sheep Inspected, the name of the owner, the locality in which 'the lt.- spectlnn took place and the date of the Inspection and to report to th3 ccunty court. Thus an accurate" cen sus of the sheep population can be obtained and a check kept on the work done by the Inspectors In the first district, which Includes the Willamette counties, no Inspec tion n ill bo made for less than cents, but will not exceed one cent cr head In any Instance and in cases In which the flocks number 1000 or ever the rate shall be proportionate ly diminished. The adoption cf the "community vnt" for dipping will prove of much saving to the owners of sheep. Thj vats used In other states are fifteen to twenty feet long, five feet deep and two feet wide on the bottom and 'hi dimensions of all vats are to con form to the government measure ments, and sheep dipped in any other vats tlun those approved by the fed' eraT and state Inspectors will not be considered officially dipped and will not receive a clean bill of health. Thnt the scab has made serious In roads among the flocks of Oregon is shown by the following figures given cut by a federal Inspector: In Marion county 7 per cent Is in fected; In Polk, 4 per cent; Benton, 4 per cent: Yamhill, 25 per cent; Wash ington, S per cent; I Inn, 30 per cent; liine, 70 per cent; Douglas. 90 per cent; Jackson, one-tenth of one per rent; JoBephlne, Coes and Curry, clean. The hands cracked open in many places and bled. One of my fingers was so bad that the nail came off. I bad often heard of cure by the Cutlcura Remedies, but had no confidence in them as I had tried so many remedies, and they all had failed to cure me. I had seen three doctors, but got no relief. Finally my hus band said that we would try the Cutl cura Remedies, so we got a cake of Cutlcura Soap, a box of Cutloura Oint ment, and two bottles of Cutlcura Resol vent Pills. Of course I keep Cuticura Soap all the time for my hands, but the one oake of Soap and half a box of Cuticura Ointment cured them.
