The labor unions of Boise will probably put a full ticket In the field J for the coming city election. At n nieet!ng of the unionists held In union hall last night a temporary city central committee of nine was appointed to look after the details for holding a convention for the pur pose of nnmlng a ticket. Union hall was crowded Inst night by trades unionists, a number of the more prominent of whom gave talks touching on the coming city election. The meeting was for only those holding cards and reporters were not given details, but It Is understood the union men will nt once launch a vigorous fight to land every city of fice. The committee held a session of mort than an hour's duration fol lowing the big meeting, but beyond a general discussion of the situation, members of the committee say noth ing was done. The committee will hold another meeting Thursday night and will then name the date for the convention at which a per manent city committee will be named to take their places. The union men say their object In entering so strongly Into the cam paign Is nothing more than to secure the best city government. They say they were conceded one councilman and possibly the street commissioner, but will not be satisfied with two of ficers. Among union men much op position Is expressed to several whose names have been mentioned as prospective candidates for the mayoralty and aldermanle positions, out of which grew the determination to name a full ticket rrom nmong their ranks. Boise Capital-News. Tax Ine t Yakima. An Injunction was Issued today by Judge Rlgg against County Treasurer Lee Tittle to prevent him from tnk ing action to collect personal taxes from Frye & Bruhn of Seattle. The petition' for the Injunction was filed this morning and upon the presenta tion of a bond of 4000 the order of .Alirt Wfll IsSUed. In their allegations the plaintiffs ny that on March 11, 1908, they had severni thousand head of -live stock In Ynklma county ready to be ship ped to Seattle to be used In their meat business; that they shipped the livestock and used them in their They further nllege that the asses-y sor of Yakima couniy ai mm moo assessed the livestock, upon which was levied a tax of $1687.24. This tax became due and payable between the first Monday of February and 20 days thereafter. The plaintiffs fur ther nllege that the same livestock wnb assessed In King county and they paid taxes thereon in that county. This suit raises the old Question of whether the county can assess live stock that Is In transit to some other point and collect taxes on the same. The matter will be heard before Judge Rlgg later in this month. Yakima Republic. Will Rebuild Idaho University. Tha newa from Boise vesterdav announcing the passage by the house of the bonding measures providing rnr on Imiia of honds to the amount of J 170,000 with which to provide funds to rebuild the administration building, and the further information that the legislature will provide rea somibly for the maintenance for the next two - years, caused considerable rejoicing In Moscow. While It has been the general opinion that the legislature would make some pro vision for rebuilding, many feared that thA Amount aDnronrlated would be less than the requirements. The turn named Is only l&,uuu less man the amount asked for. and is suffi cient to Insure a continuance of the building operations without chang ing the plans agreed upon by the hoard of regents. These plans, it is said, provide for the most complete university building on the Pacific coast.
