The following from the Cheyenne Tri! ui.e howi that the investigations and rulings of the Interstate com merce ommis&ion hare had a highly beneficial effect on the coal situation in Wyoming and will result in check ing the Union Pacific coal truft The Tribune says: J. !. S. Isrownir.g. of Ogden, has arrived at Hock Springs fo arrange for ih reopening of the Blair coal mine, near th.s city. Ue Is one of the purchaser of the mine and Is as kociated with David Eecles, C. W. N'ibley und H. H. P.olapp. Last week they paid 132.000 for this property and will organize a big stock company to open up and develop the coal vein on a large scale. The history of this mine is the his tory cf the coal monopoly in the west. It was one of the first coal deposits ever opened up in Wyoming, having been operated by Archibald Blp.ir. the pioneer Wyoming coal miner, 40 years ago. Blair was finally forced to dis continue operations on account of sharp competition on the part of the Union Pacific The mine was only partly worked out and the main vein was never touched. There is now 1, 500,000 tons of coal actually In sight With the recent action of the Inter state commerce ommlssion against the Union Pacific Coal company, re sulting In compelling the railroad to grant equitable ratts and other priv ileges to Independent companies, the mine has again become valuable after four decades and will soon be the scene of great activity. The mine will begin shipping coal again this summer. 9 A Question You Must Answer Now. TV you want the best shirtwaist ever made for the least money?
