Freewater, Jan. 10. The Walla Walla Traction company's line Into Freewater Is rapidly coming Into the city, and Is no wconstrucled to a point less tlvin a mile from the city limits. From here It will go on Into Milton, and then say many, It will not be long until the line will run through the east em! of the county and on clown ot rent'leton, the county seat. The genial editor of the Freewater Times reports everything lovely down In the Hudson Hay country. The cold weather has Interfered very little with the progress being made In the construction of the elec tric line, und the interest in the con struction of the cannery Is Just as strong. The city council of Freewater Is now establishing a base ot grades for the city and are engaged In drawing a g'jperil ordinance for the purpose of poverrl'ig all general improvements. C. T. Godwin Is acting as attorney for the mill the matter, und as soon as the ordinance Is passed the principal streets will be graded. Freewater merchants are busy in voicing this week. The Hudson Hay Orange social held on New Year's eve was a grand suc cess, over $;; being taken In clear of expenses. "Uncle Josh," a thrilling four-act comedy drama, was presented by the Hudson Bay Dramatic company Fri day and Saturday evenings at the Vin cent school house. Craig, of this city, -who recently went to Ellensburg, Wash., on account of her health, Is reported as being very low and her death is being looked for every day.
