The exports which first touched the $1. 000.000, 000-mark In 1892. and ex ceeded $1,500,000,000 In 1905, were In 1908 $1,743,864,500. an Increase of $225,000,000 over 1905. This Increase waa distributed among all the great groups, the Increase in foodstuffs being $123,000,000. crude material for manufacturing $28,000, 000 and manufactures $74,000,000. Manufactures formed 40 per cent of the exports and manufacturers' crude materials 34 per cent ' the Imports.
