Northern Pacific Trotcsts Asulit North Bank Activity. A special from Lewlston, Idaho, says: The first open breach between the Oregon Railroad & Navigation com pany and the Northern Pacific in th' construction movements on the Snake rlvr. was made known today when, at th Instance of the Northern Paci- l fic. the Judge of the supreme court of Whitm-in county Issued an Injunction restraining the Oregon Railroad & Navigation company from construc tion down the north bank of the Snake below Rlparia. A writ was issued at Colfax Saturday night and made ef fective today and word reached here this morning. It his been known for several days that the Oregon Railroad & Naviga tion company contemplated building down the north bank of the Snake he low Klparla and during the last week several hundred men were put to work grading on that line. It Is now expected here that within a short time both roads will be In an open flcht In this vicinity. Engineer Staeer, of the Northern Pacific, is now cross-sectioning the line south of I.ewlston and a construc tion crew under his orders Is straight ening and raising an abandoned track which runs to the northern portion of the city. There can be no other conclusion than that the Northern Pacific will build In the Wahn section. In the same vicinity, working with a crew, is Engineer Cobb, of the Oregon Rail road & Navigation company's local electric line. AH three surveys, from absevrntlons. will conflict, and It Is not unllkably that a fight for terri tory will again soon be precipitated. He said In part: 'In the coming contest for equal suffrage, some men and women seem to believe that the women would be greater fools than the men when It comes to voting.
