Tucker, a Toppenlsh druggist, has been arrested by order of the prosecuting attorney of Yakima coun ty, on the charge of selling liquor to the Indians. Toppenish, and of course Tucker's drug store, Is on the reser vation. A test case will be made. The first forest fire of the season Is reported from near Sandpolnt, Idaho. The wind and lay of the ground being favorable, It burned it self out after destroying considerable timber, poles and posts. Two lnrge circus tents, from which wave the Oregon banner, are used as supply distribu tion depots, and over 6000 family ra tions are distributed daily on the card system In Oregon's name. At the Wilmerding School of Me chanical Arts, Sixteenth and Utah streets, an up-to-date, well-equipped emergency hospital has been estab lished, with hospital corps of the Oregon National Guard in command. Being located in a poor neighborhood this hospital is enabled to accomplish a vast amount of good. Supplies to deserving destitute families are also Issued here, after Investigation by a committee. The Portland Oregonf.m established an Information bureau at 1002 Broad way. Oakland. Immediately after the disaster, and this has been used as headquarters for the business of the relief committee, while similar bu reaus for registration are located at six other points In San Francisco. The Oregon Daf'y Journal also has a busy bureau on1 Tenth street. Oakland, and Is locating mtmerous lost Ore gonians. At the Presidio, Dr. Marie D, Equl of Portland, is In charge of a corps of Oregon nurses. At Harbor View Dr. K. A. J. Mackenzie Is at the head of a corps of doctors and nurses, also from Portland. The management of funds and di rection of all business has been dune by Mrs. Marlon MacRae-. an editorial writer on the Portland Oregonlan. while the direction of the-various San Francfseo stations and their establish ment' is In the hands of W. G. Mac Rae. "The DeForcBt Wireless Tele graph Company turned over to T the Navy Department last week stations at Pensnrfjola, Key West, Sun Juan, Porto Rico; Cluan tauamo, Cuba and Colon, which the company had operated. The total paid by the govern ment was $63,000 or $13,000 for each station."
