The fight between Battling Nelson and Terry McQovern, at Philadelphia, was declared a draw at the end of the sixth round, though Nelson got much the best of the contest. In recognition of 11 years of highly successful work In the pastorate of the Methodist Eplscwpat church the foreign missions board of that church has selected Rev. E. M. Hill, of this city, for one of the best fields within Its province, the American Methodist Episcopal church of the City of Mex ico, says the Baker City Herald. Rev. Hill will leave Baker City for Mexico some time In the early part of April. It Is with profound regret that the congregation of his church here sees their pastor depart for his new field, but one and ail are glad for his sake that he has received the call to the great field of Mexico City.
