: AMONG THE EXCHANGES j OF THE INLAND EMPIRE ImiiieiiHi; Demand for Hiirm. The entire season's output of grain Wrs from the Waslilni?ton state pen Itentlnry, amounting to over 1,000, 00, was sola during the past three days. The present outlook for a heavy yield of grain may Increase the price of sauks In the season. The price fixed by the slate Is 6 1-2 cents. The quality of sacks heretofore pro duced at the penitentiary seems to have removed the prejudice entertain ed by farmers aRulnst prlson-madu bags, and applications came with a rush. Applications continue to pour In. One order for 50,000 from farmers near Totm-roy, and another for 50,000 from John Webb of Eureka Flat, were rejected today, The applications call for frrm 1500 to 25,000 and 30,000 each. It Is thought the price of sacks may go to 9 cents before the close of the season. Short llno After ArHvian Water. I. V. Cllne, superintendent of the railroad well boring plant In this placo Informed us last evening that he hail drilled down to the. distance of about 6U0 t-et and was still boring In lava rock which Is iiulte hard. They are ncr:iilng nhout 12 feet per day at present, but hope soon to encounter i sorter formation and make a depth more rapidly. There Is now 200 feet of water In the well. Mr. Cllne hns had much experience In boring for water and lie Is confident a good flow of water will be obtained within the next few hundred feet, when he hopes to penetrate the lava bed. There is no doubt that the railroad company will sink nt least 2000 feet before discon tinuing work In this well. Mountain home Herald. Court House Bonds Sold.
