He nays that owIiik to a hllKht which affected the sUBiir beets of that section the far mem did not have a pronperous season and uh a coiiHiMjuence the commercial liitere.stH of the entire community suffered. "It Ih doubtful If any of the plant ers w ho went In for sugar beet acre age came out even. The blight dam aged the crops to a large extent. The beet factory, too, Is being thoroughly overhauled, a new field master has been employed and a new superintendent of the fac tory will be on hand when It reopens. A larger area than ever will be planted to beets. We have no doubt of the result." Boise .Statesman. of Buhl this summer. The town will be opened for entry on April 1. Colo nel Miller says that the company Is building at 132,01)0 hotel at Buhl. Speaking of hotels, Colonel Miller says the Perrlne house at Twin Falls Is as fine a hotel as any in the state bar none. It has been known for some time that the contract would likely be let either to Sims & Shields or to Erlck son & Peterson, but It Is understood today that the latter firm will not be a bidder for either a whole or a part of the work and that the contract has probably been let to Sims & Shields, though not formally announced. The company got In flnunclal straits last fall and the drive was not delivered at the mills, but has been held In the upper river. The matter Is now In a fair way of being adjusted and the bulls will probably be worked up at the mill. The bolls are of the best ciuallty of red cedar and the drive will cut something over 1.000,- 000 MiIiikK-s. Lewlston Teller. Bis Kulc of Coul Stock. Remarkable Interest Is being shown In the development of the Grand Rondo coal property 30 miles above Asotin. The company first placed 25,000 shares on the market at 10 cents. It was sold In a short time, as every one seems convinced the showing Is there to make the venture a success. A second lot of 25,000 shares was put on the nurkot at 12 1-2 cents, which Is now nearly sold, and the management today announces they will soon put 25.000 more shares on the market, but this time the sale nrlce will be .5 cents. On the government project at Mini doka. says the colonel, a great many people are holding downs claims, walling for; the government to fur nish water, which they expect some time next season. Three towns have already sprung up on the Minidoka tract Hurley, with a population of ciin . u. vi.nrn with 250 people, and ltoiert. Willi about 600. The Twin Falls company expects to H mi, I,, to deliver water to the town Twin Falls on the Boom. The present population of Twin Falls is fully 2000 people. He says that at least 30 new business build ings are being erected, and us proof that these enterprises are not or me transitory sort, he points to the sub stantial nature of the buildings which are being erected to house them. All lines of business are good, says the colonel. I'reoaratlons are now under wav for the construction of a central school building this spring, and two or three churches. So many cases of the grippe have been reported during the past month throughout the stale that some of our leading physicians have been trying to locate the cause, and have spent much time In the health departments of our various cities carrying on tne research. Mr. Hrork. of the above firm, when Interviewed In regard to this matter, said: "It Is the pople who are run, down and physicnlly below par, who get the grippe and contract contagious diseases, and It Is a warning to every man, woman and child in Pendleton to build themselves up at this season of the year. There Is no doubt that the cod liver oil preparation, Vinol, has prevented and cured more cases of the grippe than any other remedy we know of. This Is because Vlnol contains In a concentrated form nil of the vital principles of cod liver oil without any of the system-clogging oil to upset the stomach and retard lis work.
