Great Tobacco Works Transferred to Chicago. Pittsburg. Jan. 1. The big Wey man tobacco factory In Duquesne Way. one of the oldest establishments in the tobacco Industry of this city, was closed today by order of the American Tobacco company, which controled the works. The enormous buildings occupied by the company, and which for so long have housed thousands of persons engaged In the preparation of snuff and smoking to bacco, will remain deserted and the factory will be transferred to Chica go. One of the chief causes tor the re moval of the works to Chicago Is said to be the high fre'ght rates aaaire from Pittsburg- to the chief soaxketa for the products of this factory. The larger share of the stock went to tne west and northwest Minneapolis be- j Ins the principal distributing- point I The annual expense of this freightage I amounted approximately to Ilt.M, , and a great saving can be effected by moving the works to Chicago. Better overshoot tho mark than to hit the ground In front of the target An Opinion That Should lie of Inter est to Every Person In Pendleton. So many patent medicines and ad vertised cures are now offered to the public that our readers should be glad to know the opinion of a man who hits spent years In handling them and profit by his advice. Mr. Brock, of Brock A McComas Co., local druggists, says: "After hav ing sold drugs, and all kinds and mnkes of medicines for bo many years, naturally we have learned something about them their value and power to cure, and we want to say to the read ers of the East Oregonlan that if the people of Pendleton only realize the real curative and strength-giving pow er of our cod liver oil preparation, Vlnol, we would not have clerks enough In our store In fill the demand for it." Continued Mr. Brock: "You see, Vlnol Is not a patent medicine, and It actually contains all the life-giving, body-bulldlng, and strength-creating properties of cod liver oil actually taken from fresh cods' livers, but without a drop of the system-clogging, nauseating oil. Vlnol makes rich, red blood, and tones up and lnvlgor ates evory organ In the body. "In the strongest manner we un hesitatingly indorse and guarantee Vlnol to Increase the appetite, cure stomach troubles, give strength and renewed vitality to the aged, build up puny children and run-down persons, make the weak strong, cure chronic coughs, colds and ronchltls or re fund to tho purchaser every dollar paid for It. ,- "This shows our faith In Vlnol, and wo can only ask the people of Pen dleton to try Vlnol on our guarantee' Brock & McComas Co.. druggists. SAP THE VITALITY AND UNDERMINE TUP V IT? 11X11 . Old bores that refuse to Ileal are a constant alX IlLVLI fl menace to health. They sap the vitality and undermine the constitution by draining the 6ystem of its very life fluids, and those afflicted with one of these ulcers grow despondent and almost desperate as one treatment after another fails. They patiently apply salves, washes, plasters, etc, but in spite of all these the sore refuses to heal and eats deeper into the surround ing flesh, destroying the tissues and growing to be a festering, inflamed and angry mass. The source of the trouble is in the blood. This vital fluid is filled with impurities and poisons which are constantly being discharged into the sore or ulcer, making it impossiblefor the place to heal. It will not do to depend on external applications for a cure, because they do not reach the real cause, and valuable time is lost experimenting with such treatment; the most they can do is keep the ulcer clean. Any sore that will not heal is dangerous, forthe reason that it may have the deadly germs of Cancer behind it. A cure can be brought about only through a remedy that can change the quality of the blood, and this is what S. S. S. does. It goes to the Terr bottom of the trouble, drives out the poisons and germs with which it a nuec, ana purines and builds up the entire cir culation. By the use of S. S. S. the sore is supplied with new, rich blood which correct the trouble, soon stops the discharge, and allows the place to heal naturally and nermnn ntl S. S. S also reinvigorates the entire system, and where the constitution has hern iionltl broken down it quickly builds it up and restores perfect health.
