Ho was hurriedly brought to Wal
lace, where Dr. C. S. Stone, the com
pany physician, attended the burns.
He was quite badly burned about the
'taco, but the other parts of his body
re not Injured. He returned to Te
kaa on the passenger.
It is supposed tlint some of the oil
and spread about the headlight and
that this caught when a light was
applied to the wick, which caused an

There were a total of 81,610 crates
of prunes sold by the Earl Fruit com
pany, of which over 64,000 crates
came from Idaho. These sold for an
average of $1.19 per crate. The West
fall Fruit company sold a total of
5205 crates of prunes, of which about
3600 crates were from Oregon, these
selling for an average of 99 cents per
crate. Sgobel & Day had sales of 29.-
3I6 crates of prunes from Oregon and
Washington, which averaged 98 cents,
and Hao & Hatfield sold three cars
of prunes from those two stated which
brought only 82 certs per crate.
Not only does this statement of
fruit sales In the New York market
make an exceptionally good showing
for Idaho, but the Earl Fruit company
as well may be prrud of It. Their
sales of 61.610 crates averaged $119.
while all other commission houses,
with 37,206 crates sold, were able to
secure nn average price of hut 97

secretary of state and state treasurer,
as the board of control of the portage
railway at Celllo, held a session yes
terday to hear the monthly report of
Superintendent L S. Cook, who was
present, and to attend to business con

From the report It appears that
