Sec retary Adams denied that the St. Paul had Just paid $1,000,000 for tidewater pioHrty in Tacoma, including rights of way Into that city, but from other sources It Is known here that such deal has already been ratified by the directors. The line will be extended from Chamberlain. S. f.. to meet the Ta coma & Eastern, and then the St Paul road will take over entirely new property In Tnconiu, and build a great n w stathvm. In connection with this deal is an other plan to nifet the Hill-Morgan combination. The Canadian, Pacific will connect with the new fit. Pnul 1 ueific line, and will be given the traffic in its territory, which has hitherto gone over the Hill and Northern Pacific lines. This will he done by a branch line connecting the two lines along the Pacific coast. The eastern end of the system will be by a Junction with the Pennsylvania lines at Chicago. ' The third transcontinental line is said 'to be a plan of the Northwestern, with the Vaiiderbilt lines In the east.
