RUBBER MATTING FOIl CARS.
O. R. & N. Equips Its Coaches Willi
Sanitary Rubber to Prevent Any
Spread of Disease.
The O. R. & N. company has decided
to equip all of Its passenger coaches
with rubber matting Instead of twine
and carpet matting In the aisles, be
cause of the sanitary value of the rub
ber and to prevent the possibility of
carrying disease germs on cars.
The rubber matting Is recommended
by all health and sanitary boards as
being absolutely germ proof and the
company has made this valuable
change In order to safeguard public
health In travel, an much as possible.
During the tourist rush from the
east so many people from all condi
tions and surroundings In life are con
stantly traveling that the danger of
contagion spreading Is very great at
best and the addition of rubber mat
ting In the aisles will reduce the dan
ger to the minimum.
