Wheat Advanced One tent.
Another advance of one cent oc
curred again in the local wheat mar
ket today thus bringing the price of
club wheat up to 61 cents. This Is
the fourth time. within the past two
weeks that wheat has advanced here,
the change being one cent each time.
However, so much of the wheat has
already been sold that should the
price go even considerably higher
there would be little gain now to the
growers, as there Is only about three-
fourths of a million bushels left In

IXIQirE FAIR PARADE.
Spokane Pcoplo Arranging fur Great
Oix tilng Day.
Spokane's new 150,000 Club has
taken In charge the celebrations for
October 9, the opening day of the Spo
kane Interstate fair. Some of the
most active young business men of
the city are on a committee which
proposes to have the most remarkable
parade on this first evening ever seen
In Spokane.
H. L. Llllienthal Is chairman and
Alex Green Is secretary of the com
mittee. It has held two or three meet
ings In which all manner of doings
are planned but the members refuse
to divulge their secrets. The chief
feature, however, will be a great pa
rade ut the fair grounds. The par
ticipants will be disguised In the most
grotesque costumes.
Every person who appears at the
west gate promptly at 7:30 and In
some costume, the more outlandish
the better, will be admitted free to
the grounds for the parade. In past
years the fairs at Spokane have had
opening day parades which have been
both gorgeous and amusing, but the
one to be given this year will cast all
others In the shade.
Incendiaries at Gruiigcvillc.
Another fire destroyed one of the
slaughter houses In Grangeville late
last night. As the fire was at a safe
distance from any buildings no alarm
was turned In, but a party of men vis
ited the scene of the fire and accom
plished everything possible to extin
guish it, but to no avail, as the build
lug was an old one and It was soon
completely destroyed. It has been
learned this morning, the fire was of
Incendiary origin.
There Is now no doubt that some
one In or near the city Is determined
to destroy the town, and It Is thought
that the fire of last night was set at a
distance from the business portion so
as to lead a greater part of the citi
zens away from that point, as It would
now be almost Impossible to set a
fire downtown, It being so closely
guarded by the extra force of police
that are kept patrolling the city day
and night.
There are still many suspicious
characters In the city and It Is now un
derstood that the police are on the
right trnck of the lawbreakers and
that arrests will soon follow. Lewis
ton Tribune. '
