For 10 days, lying In a trance-like state, with hardly a sign of life, so that her parents almost believed her dead, Elsie Salvatlson, a Danish girl, 19 years of age, has at last returned to life. Ten days ago Miss Salvatlson was in apparent perfect health, and living with her parents at the Buis ley mine, then one day she was taken 111, and gradually relapsed into an un conscious state. 8he remained In this condition until today she suddenly awakened and spoke. For two days she was cored for at the mine and then wus brought to her home In South Baker, where she has been un der the care of Dr. Marotte ever since. i Duurlng all the time that she was In the trance she took no food or nourishment of any kind. Today she was given a little food. As Is well known, Denmark Is a comparative low altitude, while the Balsley mine Is elevated about 8000 feet. The doc tor says that the, difference' In alti tude probably produced the strange effect on Miss Sulvatlson.-i-Baker City Herald. Fires Scarce In Cascade Reserve.
