Cousins, came across the water ditch of an old pl.icor mine and on Investigation found the cabin and part of fie tools of the miners, which Is supposed to be the one nlian doned years ago by a prospector whom? name Is not known by the writer. He was run out by Indians and has tried some three different times to find his mine, though failed in the effort. Yesterday workmen were busy apply ing a coat of tho oil on the street In front of the freight warehouse. Sev eral hundred gallons of the liquid was applied, and It is believed that as a result there will bo less dUHt in that viiinily hereafter. Boise Statesman. New Variety of Hurley. H. It. Arbogast, one of Hitter's most pronperoun ranchers, came over this morning on business. He brought a sample of hlB ball barley grain with him, which measured DO Inches high with well filled heads. This Is a beardless variety and weighs CO pounds to the bushel. Another valua ble feature of the grain Is the straw, It being soft and much like a stock. A sample of bin apples was also brought over.
