The county clerk of Wasco county
has decided not to issue marriage cer
tificates to parties coming from other
counties, and wants them to do their
marrying at home. This is the law,
and Mr, Bolton Is right. Parties must
get the necessary license in the coun
ty in which they reside, but having
got the license they can get married
anywhere they please. Two couples
applied for a license in The Dalles
last week and had to wait until they
got the license from H. 8. McDaniel,
county clerk of Sherman, before they
could become man and wife. It
. caused a day's delay, which was rather
hard on the contracting parties.
