The physic ians who performed the autopsies on the bodies of the murdered Weber family, testified this morning In the trial of Adolph Weber, that the pistol wounds In the bodies of Julius, Mary and Bertha Weber would be almost Instantly fatal In each case. One witness told of his being call ed to dress the defendant's hand on the night of the murders. Weber stated he had cut It on a window pane. The witness also said the wound was such that It could not have been made In that manner, but waa Jagged as If torn by barbed wire. He also made the startling announce ment that the defendant, when re monstrated with on his determination to go back to the fire, said, "People suy my mother Is alive. I know she Is dead. Mich., claiming to he a taxpayer of the District of Colum bia, has filed papers with the presi dent pro tern of the senate charglns. Senator Piatt, of New York, as being party to the violation by the express companies of the Sherman anti-trust law. He alleges that the Adams. American, United States, Wells-Far-go and other companies are In the trust, and that Plattt, as president of the United States company. Is an ac tive spirit therein. Affidavits accom pany the charges. Post asks permission to file a pe tition detailing the charges, and re quests the expulsion of Piatt from the senate. Cunningham Will Ship 1000 to Denver, Where He Will Open Sale Pens. That the call of Colorado sheepmen for a higher grade of bucks may be answered, Charles Cunningham, the Commercial Association Elec ted Officers and Heard Recommendations. Last night occurred the annual meeting of the Pendleton Commercial association, and officers for the en suing year were elected, reports of old officers received nnd numerous other matters discussed. Officers ami Boards. For president during the coming year It was the unanimous sentiment that J. A. Borle should be re-elected, and this was done after a brief speech by T. G. Halley, praising the work of that official during the past year. For vice president, C. E. Roosevelt waa again placed in nomination by Leon Cohen, and this election was also unanimous. But here the re election of the old officers came to an end, and the "young blood" of the association was recognised by the election of Fred Lampkln as secretary and Mark Moorhouse as treasurer. A committee was appointed to nominate nine men to serve with the officers on the board of managers. This committee reported the names of Leon Cohen, Robert Forster, F. E. Judd, M. A. Rader, W. L. Thompson, J. W. Maloney, Bert Huffman. Oeorge Hartman, Jr., and Dr. C. J. Smith. These nine were then unanimously chosen to serve on the board of man agers. Reports and Addresses.
